Reasons are that Kapfenberg Superstar Joe Shaw is injured, and will miss for 6 weeks at least. Everbody in austria says " if you wanna stop the bulls, you only have to control Shaw", and thats more than true. with 19,6 ppg he is by far their best scorer, and also hes amongst the best rebounders with 5,6 pg. He just cant be replaced. Also they released another important player yesterday with Ahmetbasic (G, 7,5ppg, 2rpg), because it seems like he completely misbehaved in training, I dont know what exactly happened but it must ve been bad to get kicked immediately. So far this two teams played against each other 2 times this season, and Vienna won both. In the first (71:78) Shaw had a pretty bad day and only scored 11 points, Ahmetbasic was not with the team yet, and in the second scored 26 points (7rebounds), while Ahmetbasic scored 7. Bulls lost 92:98.
For Vienna as far as I know only Nagler will miss, he s a bench player. (also 18y.o. Oscar Schmit but he never plays more than a minute or so at the very end) I really dont know any single reason why Vienna should be underdog here, also the game is on neutral ground in Oberwart, the cup final will be played on sunday.
